Q. How far in advance of my trip should I request the eVisa?

A. The Sri Lanka eVisa can be requested at least 5 days in advance; however, it is advisable to request it 15 days prior to the travel date to ensure that everything is in order and there are no last-minute issues with flights or accommodation bookings.


Q. What do I need to apply for the eVisa to Sri Lanka?

A. To apply for the eVisa you will need a scanned copy of your passport, which must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the country and a recent passport size photo. Kindly be informed if you already have an ongoing visa to Sri Lanka you will not be able to apply for a new eVisa.

To fill out  the form you will need to know your date of entry and your date of departure in the country as well as your postal address where you are staying.


Q I have requested the eVisa, how long does it take to process?

A. More than 90% of the applications submitted are approved within the indicated deadlines. Please refer to the table below for estimated delivery times.

Q. What is the cost of the eVisa to Sri Lanka?

A. Our management fee it is between 60 and 79 EUR for the standard option. Additionally, you will need to pay government charges, which may vary depending on the nationality, type of visa, or chosen travel document. For other options, an additional fee will be applied based on the processing time.


Q. What is the permitted length of stay in Sri Lanka with the eVisa?

A. The maximum permitted length of stay would depend on the type of visa chosen. The maximum permitted length of stay is 60 days with multiple entry. However, if you choose the 30-day visa, the maximum permitted length of stay is 30 days with single entry and with the transit visa the maximum is 2 to 4 days, depending on the transit visa chosen.


Q. Can the eVisa be extended?

A. Yes, the eVisa can be extended; however, if you are outside the country, we recommend you to apply for a new eVisa.To extend your visa you can do it online or contacting an immigration office if you are in Sri Lanka.


Q. Is there a transit visa? is it required for Sri Lanka?

A. Yes, there is a transit visa, but it is not needed if you do not leave the international transit area of the airport. The transit visa, both the 2-day visa and the 4-day visa, are recommended for people traveling by cruise ship, but it is not exclusive to them. 


Q. I already have my eVisa to Sri Lanka, what should I do next?

A. Once you have received your approval letter, the next steps will depend on your travel plans and the purpose of your trip. Below, we have outlined some of the usual steps:

  • Check your entry requirements. 
    Make sure you have all the necessary documents to enter the country, including your passport, expected arrival confirmation, accommodation details, flight tickets (both inbound and outbound) and any other mandatory documents. 

  • Travel plans:
    Confirm your travel itinerary, including flight details, accommodation, and transportation within the country.

  • Sanitary precautions:
    Check for any health requirements or recommendations for travel, such as required vaccines or health insurance. Stay up-to-date on any restrictions or guidelines. 

  • Currency and finances:
    Consider your needs and plan accordingly. It is advisable to have some local currency for immediate expenses upon arrival. 

  • Contact information:
    Keep the contact information of your accommodation, embassy or local consulate, and any emergency contacts readily available.

  • Travel insurance: 
    Consider taking out travel insurance to cover any unexpected event or emergency during your trip. 

  • Local traditions and laws:
    Familiarize yourself with the traditions, laws, and cultural norms of the country to ensure a respectful and pleasant visit. 

  • Stay informed:
    Stay informed about any updates or changes to travel advisories, entry requirements, as well as local conditions before your trip.

Q. I have made a mistake in my application, how can I change it?

A.  Before making any changes to your application, please consider the following points:


  1. If your application has been processed and confirmed, no changes can be made.

  2. If your application is still being processed, no changes can be made.

  3. You will only be able to modify your application if you have pending documentation or data on your application form. Please note that once you confirm your application, an automated system starts to make checks and connections with our databases. This is why you should thoroughly check all your application details and documentation before confirming the registration of your application.

Q. For how long is the eVisa valid?

A. The validity of the eVisa will depend on the type of visa. The 30-day eVisa is valid for 90 days and the 6-month eVisa is vale
