What is the permitted length of stay in India with the ETA?

Depending on the type of ETA you have chosen, the permitted lenght may vary:

  • e-Tourist visa (30 days):

The maximum permitted stay is 30 days from the date of arrival into the country. This visa is ideal for travelers planning a short visit and do not require an extended stay.

  • e-Tourist visa (1-5 years):

This visa is valid for either 1 year or 5 years, allowing multiple entries into the country. However, each stay must not exceed 180 days. This option is suitable for those planning multiple visits to India over an extended period without needing to apply for a new visa each time.

  • e-Business visa:

Valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, also allowing multiple entries. Similar to the long-term e-Tourist Visa, the maximum stay in a single visit should not exceed 180 days. This visa is intended for travelers visiting India for business purposes and requiring flexibility for multiple visits within a year.

It is important for travelers to plan their visits in accordance with these stay restrictions to avoid issues with immigration authorities.
