For how long is the eVisa to Rwanda valid?

The validity of the Rwanda eVisa varies depending on the type of visa selected:

  1. Transit visa: This visa is valid only for 72 hours. It is designed for travelers who have a brief stopover in Rwanda and do not intend to leave the airport during that time.
  2. Tourist, visit, and East Africa Visa: These visas are valid for 90 days or until the traveler's passport expires, whichever comes first. This means you can use the eVisa to enter Rwanda at any time during this period, as long as you do not exceed the permitted stay limit on each visit.
  3. Renewal with a new passport: If you obtain a new passport before your eVisa expires, you will need to apply for a new eVisa using the new passport details. This is because the eVisa is linked to the passport number used in the initial application.
